Capon Bridge
Elementary School
Hampshire County Schools

Blackwood Associates, Inc. designed its first building for Hampshire County Schools in 1984. Since that time BAI has been responsible for the successful completion of construction on eleven different
school projects in Hampshire County.
Capon Bridge Elementary School was funded by the School Building Authority in 1990 and became the first SBA Needs Project occupied and dedicated for student use. The red brick and green metal paneled roof set a building design standard for SBA funded schools throughout West Virginia.
Ground breaking ceremonies were held on the last day of October, 1990, and the project was substantially complete within twelve months. Construction was bid and awarded as a single lump-sum contract.
