East Hardy Elem/Middle
School
The School Building Authority funded the East Hardy Elementary/Middle School in early 1991. Work with the building design committee had started six months prior to funding and construction proceeded quickly with a Site Work contract. As a requirement of SBA, East Hardy Elementary/Middle School was built using Construction Management procedures. The project was bid and constructed under eighteen separate packages of work. A hillside site resulted in a two-story, five level building that is totally accessible. The major design challenge was providing a single structure while maintained separation of elementary and middle school students.
