Preston County High School
Preston County Schools
Preston High School was
the flagship project in a $8,850,000 Bond Issue passed in December 1989. Blackwood
Associates, Inc. worked extensively with the County Administration for
two months prior to the Bond vote in development of conceptual designs on
five separate projects.
Models and drawings
developed by BAI were used to successfully pass a Bond Issue in
Preston County for the first time in over forty years. The new Preston
High School resulted in consolidation of three High Schools into a
single 1,200 (10-12) student facility.

First Floor Plan
Preston High School
was constructed as an addition to a structure completed in 1988. Project
work included renovations to the existing building and construction of a
football stadium and athletic fields. An $870,000.00 Site Work package was
necessary to remove a mountaintop and provide a building site. A
$210,000.00 Football Field package resulted in one of the best High School
playing fields in West Virginia. In 1992, the School Building Authority
funded the construction of a Gymnasium Addition to complete the original
design.
Project Cost:
$10,200,000.00
Completion Date: 1993
