Tygarts Valley High School
Randolph County Schools
Randolph County Schools was awarded $3.6 million by the School Building Authority for major additions at the 500 student Tygarts Valley Middle/High School. Blackwood Associates, Inc. was selected to provide professional services for design and construction of
39,000 sf. of new school space.
A new addition was designed to join all existing buildings that were to remain on campus. The new square footage will accommodate the addition of 6th grade level students to the Middle School and replace classrooms presently housed in a building constructed in 1923.
The 1923 building was demolished after opening the new school
addition. The redesign of the total facility allowed for needed separation of Middle and High School students.
The Tygarts Valley High School Additions and food service equipment for the new cafeteria were released by BAI for bidding purposes in October of 1999.
The project was completed in the Fall of 2001.
