Jim Blackwood, president of
BAI has collected historical postcards of West Virginia for many years and finds they
are a valuable resource for historical projects. These postcards indicate the
directions of change in both rural and urban areas, as well as identifying the residents
persona of cities and towns at the turn of the century.
As we find new
treasures and share with our friends, we will provide links here to scanned historical
postcards from areas all over West Virginia. Most of these postcards were actually
purchased outside of the state. Real photos are designated RP and circa dates have
been provided for postcards that were never postdated.
